Marketing for games, players and the culture around them.

We help game studios, publishers, esports organisations and gaming technology brands reach players with creative that respects the community and campaigns that are measured properly.

Industry overview

The gaming landscape.

Please noteOur gaming practice covers video games, esports and gaming technology. Real-money gambling and betting are separately regulated; we do not imply any gambling advertising approval or licence.

Players are discerning. They recognise authentic creative, they talk to each other and they notice when marketing overpromises. Successful game marketing respects that audience: it shows real gameplay, is honest about what a game is, and builds momentum through a launch rather than relying on a single moment.

We work with studios, publishers, esports teams and gaming hardware and software brands on launch planning, wishlist and pre-registration campaigns, store page optimisation, video creative for platforms where players spend time, and measurement that connects marketing to installs, wishlists and engagement.

Marketing challenges

What makes gaming marketing difficult.

The challenges we most often see, and the ones our approach is designed to address.

  1. Crowded release calendars

Launch windows compete with major releases, so timing and sustained visibility matter.

  2. Authenticity

Creative that misrepresents gameplay damages trust and reviews. Players expect to see what they will actually get.

  3. Measuring across platforms

Console, PC storefront and mobile ecosystems each have different measurement limitations.

  4. Audience age and suitability

Campaigns must respect age ratings, platform rules and restrictions on advertising to children.

Strategy considerations

Principles we apply.

Practical principles that shape how we plan gaming campaigns.

Show real gameplay

Represent the game accurately, including platform and rating information.

Build towards launch

Plan announcement, pre-launch, launch and post-launch phases as one campaign.

Respect age ratings

Target audiences consistent with the game’s rating and platform policies.

Be transparent about purchases

Disclose in-game purchases and avoid misleading representations of monetisation.

Gaming is not gambling

Our gaming industry work focuses on lawful video game, esports and gaming technology marketing. Real-money gambling, sports betting, online casinos and similar activities are regulated separately in Canada and elsewhere — for example, internet gaming in Ontario is overseen through the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and iGaming Ontario — and are subject to strict advertising standards and platform rules.

CREATIONZ does not hold, and does not claim to hold, any gambling licence, registration or advertising certification. Any inquiry relating to regulated gambling would be assessed individually and would require evidence of appropriate licensing, platform certification where required (for example, Google’s gambling and games advertiser certification), and compliance with applicable law before any work could begin.

  • We do not create gambling or betting landing pages, and we do not present gambling advertising as automatically permitted.
  • Game advertising respects age ratings, platform policies and laws restricting advertising directed at children, such as Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act.
  • In-game purchases and loot-box mechanics are described accurately where relevant.
  • Social casino and other simulated-gambling products may be subject to additional platform restrictions and are assessed case by case.

This summary is general information, not legal advice. Requirements vary by product, jurisdiction and platform, and change over time.
